HES100 Healthful Living 3 Credits

Examines health-related behaviors and issues associated with a modern lifestyle. Explores current topics of interest related to mental, physical, social and environmental health such as stress management, nutrition, and fitness. Identifies and evaluates personal and community strategies to promote an optimal lifestyle.

Prerequisites: None.

Course Notes: HES100 is required for the Personal Training Certificate.

WED106 Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) 0.5 Credits

Basic overview of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Covers choking procedures and the importance, guidelines, and techniques for performing CPR and utilizing an AED. Prerequisites: None.

Course Notes: Students may be required to complete additional practice time and skills assessment based upon skills assessment during the class session (a minimum of one hour within one week of the course, which is within the required contact hours for the course).
